home studio…
located on the preston/reservoir border, MY HOME STUDIO IS SET UP LIKE A COSY BEDROOM, creating an inviting atmosphere perfect for capturing authentic and intimate moments with YOUR BELLY, BABY OR BIG KIDS.
ONE PARENT
HOME STUDIO SESSION
Investment: $450+
Length of shoot: 45 minutes
Number of images: 20, with option to purchase more
Perfect for: When you want a few quick snaps with your kids but need a lower cost option, or when your home is a mess and you CBF cleaning, (or both!).
Not great for: If your toddler or young child is in a phase where a potentially long drive, unfamiliar house and a stranger with a camera might lead to dysregulation, I recommend booking a family shoot at your home, where your child will feel more comfortable.
Please see below for why I recommend these should be one parent only.
Option to purchase additional images
If you would like to purchase additional images - either when making your selects or in a few months time - you are able to at a rate of $150 per 10 images.
I will hang onto your photos for over a year, giving you plenty of time to decide.
what
to
expect
Before the shoot:
To get the ball rolling, book your shoot here. I usually get back to you within 48 business hours with a questionnaire, style guide, contract and invoice.
On shoot day:
Upon arrival, I always make an effort to connect with your kids (the questionnaire helps with this). I work fast, which means there is plenty of time for nappy changes, feeds, tears and any other big or little mishaps that happen along the way; as a postpartum doula and mother of two, I know babies, I know toddlers, I know bigger kids and most importantly, I know mums. I bring a sensitive touch to my photo sessions and strive to make my clients feel confident, beautiful, seen, heard and respected. I’m also pretty good at making sure dads have a fun time too however, Home Studio Sessions are not always the right place for this.
Why I Recommend One-Parent Participation for Home Studio Sessions...
While my home studio isn’t explicitly limited to mums or birthing parents, I’ve found that the best results come when only one parent is present during these sessions. If you’d like both parents included, I recommend booking a Shoot at Yours, which is more conducive to family dynamics.
This approach isn’t just about the studio’s intimate size but also about creating the best possible environment for your child. Many little ones can feel overstimulated or dysregulated when both parents and a photographer are present in a small, unfamiliar space. They may also cling to one parent or struggle to relax, which can make capturing natural, heartfelt moments more challenging.
When just one parent is present, the dynamic often shifts. Kids feel more grounded, and I can create a level of intimacy that allows me to document your unique connection authentically and beautifully.
(If we’re being brutally honest, many dads feel wildly uncomfortable in a home studio setting as well, and their discomfort can affect the overall energy and vibe of the shoot).
After the shoot:
I email you a contact sheet where you can pick which photos you would like to purchase. A high-resolution digital gallery will be emailed to you 1-2 weeks after you make your selects. Once you have received your gallery, you have the option to let me know if there are images you would prefer I didn’t share on social media/website/competitions, etc.
I provide guidance around printing, framing, photobooks if needed.
